Welcome to The Emotionally Intelligent Dog Trainer, a book born from a deep love of dogs, years of hands-on experience as an expert dog trainer, and a rigorous academic journey culminating in a PhD in performance psychology. This book is not just about teaching your dog to sit, stay, or roll over—though those skills certainly have their place.
It’s about something far more profound: understanding the emotional currents that flow between you and your canine companion, and harnessing that connection to create a partnership built on trust, respect, and mutual understanding
Our training philosophy is built on emotional intelligence (EI)—the ability to recognize, understand, and manage both human and canine emotions to create a trust-based, cooperative training approach. Unlike traditional methods that rely solely on obedience and control, our approach emphasizes mutual communication, empathy, and psychological awareness to strengthen the bond between humans and dogs.
